I can’t believe it’s already December and we’re just weeks away from Christmas (yay!) and 2017 (eee). Before we rush into the new year, here’s a recap of the big stuff that happened in November — it was a month for the books!
-After several weeks of late night practices, vocal instruction and sore muscles, my show, A Chorus Line opened! Lucky for me, two of my number one fans there in the front row to show their support 🙂
-One of my college friends and former dance teammates, Karley, and her husband, Kyle, flew to San Diego for a trip to celebrate their first anniversary (you may remember their very fancy and very FUN wedding). I was able to squeeze in a whole day with the newlyweds, and we had a blast exploring San Diego. We dined at one of my favorite food + beer combo spots, Stone at Liberty Station (the brussel sprouts are to DIE for), and took a trip up to Cabrillo Monument to enjoy the beautiful harbor and lighthouse views.
-The following weekend, my mom and brother, Nick, flew to San Diego for a visit (and to see my show!) November was a busy month for visitors, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It was Nick’s first ever trip to San Diego (and my mom’s second in one year!). Even though I had to work for a few days during their visit, they were able to enjoy the world-famous San Diego Zoo together, explore Pacific Beach and so much more. It was a really great trip, and I’m still buzzing from how wonderful it was to have them out here.
-For my birthday earlier this year, Mike got me season tickets to the San Diego Civic Theatre, and this month, I got to enjoy my second show of the seaosn: The Sound of Music. It was an absolutely lovely production, and the set design was beautiful.
-For Thanksgiving, we spent the day with Mike’s family in Del Mar. We enjoyed a relaxing and food-filled day, and it was nice to be able to spend time at my home away from home on the west coast, although I did miss my own family dearly. Georgie particularly enjoyed Thanksgiving, since he got to spend time with his favorite personal in the world, Mike’s dad (seriously), and got to try turkey for the first time.
-On Black Friday, we #optedoutside and took a trip to the Del Mar Dog beach to hang out with Mike’s childhood friend, his girlfriend and their dog, Monty… who happens to be Georgie’s dad! Shortly after we brought Georgie home from the breeders, they reached out to us about Monty — turns out they were having some family issues and needed to re-home their adult berners; very sad 🙁 We regretfully said we wouldn’t be able to take Monty, Georgie’s dad, but Mike thought one of his friends, Piotr, might be interested. Turns out he was, and Monty has been adjusting happily to life with Piotr and Caitlyn ever since! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day:
-And lastly, I officially set up my side consulting business, A+ Marketing! I’ve been doing freelance work on and off for the last couple of years now, so this was just making it official.
November was a month to remember, and December’s going to be a great one too! Mike and I will be heading back to Virginia for Christmas and I cannot wait. What were some of your favorite moments from November?
